Born to Arabella (Ludlow) and Edward Gould in New York, Francis Lewis Paco Gould (1884-1979) graduated from New York University in 1905. He served in the New York National Guard during World War I before engaging in investment banking and serving as vice president of R. W. Halsey & Company and president of Distributors Guild Inc.
